A development of the Model P action, the Model PL is of conventional, cylindrical forward-locking turn bolt design, is available in single shot format as either left or right handed configuration. Click here for Technical drawing.
This action is also available in a complete rifle build, the Barnard Model 10ss.
The Model PL has been designed to handle larger bodied cartridges, up to cartridges based on the Rigby .416 brass, such as the .338 Lapua magnum.
The bolt carries three forward locking lugs, is equipped with a Sako style extractor, and bolt face to suit either 338 Lapua Magnum or 375 H&H. It undergoes finish machining after hardening, and is hand lapped to suit its mating receiver.
The receiver is a 4340 chrome/moly/nickel steel solid bottom cylinder, which is through hardened to 38Rc and finish machined after surface hardening to ensure concentricity.
Supplied as standard with the Barnard Target trigger.
